The vast majority of all journeys are completed without incident, however occasionally, regardless of how careful you are, things can go wrong. In order to make sure that you won’t need a claim form when you get home, please find below a few tips to raise your awareness and help you manage if the unexpected occurs.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

Check with your doctor or alternatively the E111 provides information regarding vaccinations you may require for the country you are visiting. You must notify the Insurance Section, Finance Office of any pre-existing medical condition prior to your departure. If you take any medication for an ongoing medical condition ensure that you have ample supply for the duration of your trip. For all trips to the EU, you must complete the E111 form from the Post Office. This will entitle you to free or low cost treatment for medical conditions.
